Speaking… Teaching… Workshops

We actively enjoy teaching and sharing with the goal of broadening breastfeeding support to mothers.

Whether speaking locally, nationally or internationally Ann M. Witt, MD, FABM, IBCLC and Maya Bolman, BSN, RN, IBCLC enjoy collaborating with mothers and healthcare providers to expand breastfeeding knowledge and support.

As a speaker, breastfeeding medicine physician, and researcher Dr. Ann Witt’s speaking engagements focus on team-based lactation care in the primary care office, early postpartum breastfeeding challenges, evaluation and management of acute and chronic breast pain, and Therapeutic Breast Massage in Lactation (TBML).

Maya Bolman’s, BSN, RN, IBCLC passion for speaking focuses on Therapeutic Breast Massage in Lactation. She is known internationally and nationally for promoting hand expression and breast massage to breastfeeding mothers. She recognizes that teaching mothers these basic tools helps empower them to work through breastfeeding challenges.

On-Site Workshops:

While speaking nationally and internationally on TBML, we bring this topic to the forefront here at our office with hands on workshops to learn the techniques of TBML. The ability to work with breastfeeding mothers who bring their own stories on the use of TBML is invaluable in learning how to appropriately use TBML in the clinical setting.

The Art of Therapeutic Breast Massage in Supporting Breastfeeding Workshop

Our all day workshop is designed to enable hands on practice of TBML techniques used for relieving discomfort caused by engorgement, plugged ducts and mastitis in lactating women and to learn how to empower breastfeeding mothers to use these techniques.

  • “Learning TBML has been a game-changer for me. Wish I knew about this 20 years ago!”
    Lisa Marasco, IBCLC

“It’s such a powerful yet so simple tool to relieve really complicated situation with engorgement or plugged ducts. You just see the miracle made by your own hands. Mother feels much better and it takes only few minutes to teach her the right technique.” Oksana Laurinaviciene, IBCLC, Lithuania

TBML and Hand Expression Counseling workshop:

The two hour workshop is designed for professionals focused on counseling mothers on hand expression and TBML principles. This knowledge will assist providers to empower mothers on using the techniques at home to provide immediate relief of acute breast pain.

“I had a plugged duct and called an IBCLC for a visit. She explained to me how to perform TBML – it felt as some kind of SPA massage, very gentle and very different from what I was doing. The plugged duct became unplugged and I felt huge relief. I suggest this strategy to all my friends, as it so safe, so powerful and so easy to perform at home.” Breastfeeding mother
